Guys I rolled back to previous version v1.1.7 on Steam so that the trainer works, while we wait for an update. Here’s how to do that:
AC Shadows steamdb info: https://steamdb.info/depot/3159331/manifests/
1) Close Steam, Open Windows Run (WIN+R) and type in steam://open/console
2) Enter the command download_depot 3159330 3159331 4592065202899823485
(There wont be any progress bar but it will download, you’ll know when its finished when it says the directory it downloaded to in Steamapps content folder, folder is 135GB in size)
3) Exit steam, delete the game data of the installed game in C:\SteamGames\steamapps\common\Assassin’s Creed Shadows (or whatever your game directory is)
4) Copy everything in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_3159330\depot_3159331 to the game folder
5) In C:\SteamGames\steamapps (directory might be different on your PC but basically your steamapps folder) Find “appmanifest_3159330.acf” set Properties to Read only. This will force Steam to not update the game
6) Login to steam and launch the game
NOTE: If you played the game on v1.1.8 and try to use your saves on v1.1.7 it will say that its corrupted, I resorted to finding another save on nexus mods and using the ACSaveTool from github to decrypt the save to use with your account (there are guides on YT on how to do this).

Preventing the game from update only reverts the few cool things they added back not to be available anymore, plus, not everyone has bought it on Steam, either, rather, please update the trainer.
Agreed, updating the trainer would be the most ideal scenario but if I had to trade manual parkour jump and a detailed stats page for trainer functionality I would do it without a second thought.

Hope you see Trainers not as a nesessary mechanic but as a gimmick. With Shadows, Ubisoft made another easy game for broader groups.

Thank you for the update. However, there is still an issue with modifying the quantity of items in the backpack. When I try to change the quantity of certain materials, it ends up altering the quantity of quest items or treasures instead.
